He started his cricket career by getting selected for the Under 19 World Cup for Sri Lanka. In the year 2017-18, he played for SLC 2022 Chilaw Marians Cricket Club. In the year 2018, he also was the leading wicket-taker for Dambulla in the tournament and also hit 3 sixes. He made his ODI debut in the year 2017 against Zimbabwe. He made his debut in test matches on the 3rd of January in the year 2021 against South Africa and played his last test match on the 22nd of January 2021 against England.
